Under The Help Of Gail Van Langen Edit

Hannah is a 14 and a half-year-old who has a sixth sense, a sense in which she actually can see the ghosts of the undead, who are always coming to her but is too afraid to approach them. Dr. Gail Van Langen, a child psychologist in Detroit, who comes across her case, decides to help her, due to the fact Hannah is going through a similar situation as a previous patient of hers, named Sean. At first, Gail thinks Hannah is delusional and plans to drop her. Remembering Sean, Gail listens to an audiotape from a session with Sean, then a child. On the tape, Gail is heard leaving the room, and when she returned, Sean was crying. Turning up the volume, Gail hears a weeping boy instead of a child, and now believes that Hannah is telling the truth and that Sean may have had the same ability. She suggests to Hannah that she should try to find a purpose for her gift by communicating with the ghosts and perhaps aid them with their unfinished business. At first, Hannah is unwilling since the ghosts terrify her, but she finally decides to do it.

Seeing Dead People Edit

Hannah talks to one of the ghosts, a young ill girl who recently died, Ava Collins. He goes to her funeral reception with Van Langen upon her request. Ava's ghost gives Hannah a box holding a videotape, which Hannah then passes on to her sitter. The video shows Ava's babysitter intentionally making her sick, revealing the true reason she died.

Telling Her Babysitter The Truth Edit

Learning to live with the ghosts she sees, Hannah starts to fit in at school and gets the lead in the school play, which Gail attends. The doctor and patient depart on positive terms and Hannah suggests to Gail that she should try speaking to Nicole while she is asleep (who then realizes she was a ghost the entire time). Hannah confesses her secret to her babysitter, Maddy. Although her babysitter at first does not believe her, Hannah proves her ability to her, and Maddy tearfully accepts the truth.
